Mohammad Hossein Jafari (aka Émmsen Jafari) is a filmmaker and video artist from Tehran, Iran, born in 1985. Jafari was introduced to the world of art at the age of 4, when his father taught him photography. This became an early passion, leading to his participation in two periods of Photo Festival of the Child and Young Adult (Sooreh), as well as various group exhibitions in 1989 and 1993. He spent his childhood with his father Majid Jafari, an actor, and made a home for himself among sets of films and theatre productions.
In 2001 Jafari started his career, acting in the production Vortex, and has since worked on more than 25 plays as an actor as well as a video and graphic designer. He made his first short film Hush! in 2003. In 2004 he directed Tabu, which earned awards from The First Shahed Theatre Festival. In 2007 he began to focus on video art and has since participated in many group exhibitions. At the request of an ENSAPL école lecturer, his work was shown in an école class in 2010, to inspire students and function as a model for them to accomplish their projects with. In that year Jafari and Ramin Etemadi were the organisers and curators of Time’s Memory / Remembrance of Objects project between Iran and France. In 2012 the related exhibition was held in Mohsen Gallery.
His works have been shown in Iran, France, Australia and South Korea.

In 2011, Jafari, with Golnoosh Hamidi, founded the artist’s studio Entr”acte Studio. In 2015, Entr”acte Studio initiated collaborative activities with Experimental Film Society.
